Shoreline is a Space Between…

From the land, it’s where we look out and dream of a journey to come. From the water, it’s where we look to for direction and the promise of steady ground.

Where can we go to gather…to set a course…to prepare for a new journey or to resupply for the one already underway?

Go Beyond Fun – Put Faith into Practice

You want your students to have fun. You also want them to grow in their faith. Too often experiences are either one or the other – or awkwardly alternate between the two.

We know how to have fun; our passion is forming faith in the process. We put 90+ years of experience into creating an environment where every moment – whether in a worship service or out on the water, around the dinner table or 30 feet off the ground – is about practicing faith in Christian community. Fun for fun’s sake is fleeting; practice makes faith permanent.

Summer 2023

While we had hoped to restart Shoreline Camps for Summer 2023, we’ve made the difficult decision to extend its suspension of operations while our family of ministries continues to recover from pandemic impacts. For questions about future summers, contact Stephen Ward.

For questions about Shoreline programming or group registration, contact Stephen. For questions about camper registration, email Autumn or call the North Georgia Camp & Retreat Ministries office at (706) 864-6181.

Stephen’s first experience with the NGCRM family of ministries was serving multiple years on summer staff at Shoreline’s sibling ministry, Glisson. After graduating from Kennesaw State with a Bachelor’s in History 2012, he began a year-long internship with Glisson, then joined the year-round team as our first-ever Program Director focused on our expanding Outpost program. Stephen’s role with NGCRM now includes coordinating all aspects of our Outpost, Grow Day Camps, ELI, and Shoreline programs. Stephen, his wife, Ellen, and their sons, Micah and Owen, live in Dahlonega and attend Dahlonega UMC.

Autumn began her camp ministry journey as a camper at Shoreline’s sibling ministry, Glisson, in the mid-2000s, then ELI participant for multiple summers. She went on to serve on our Summer Team as Crew (2015), Village Counselor (2016), Site Director for Grow+ELI+Shoreline (2017-2019), and then as a 15-month Program Intern focused on Grow+ELI (2020-2021). In September of 2021, Autumn joined our year-round team as a Camper Coordinator. Prior to her time on staff, Autumn studied Leadership & Psychology at Kennesaw State University and, over the course of nine years, worked her way into a Store Supervisor role at Chick-fil-A. Autumn lives in Dahlonega and enjoys spending time traveling and watching the Atlanta Braves.

After multiple summers as a camper and counselor at Shoreline’s sibling ministry, Glisson, Cameron came back to camp in ’08 and never really left. What began as an internship morphed into various roles and jobs titles since. His latest title is Director of Communications & Program Advancement for NGCRM’s family of ministries. It’s a bit long-winded, but so is Cameron. He’s hoping this one might last longer than the others since it captures what he’s been up to all along: sharing camp’s story and dreaming up ways to help make camp even more impactful and possible for more people in more places. Prior to his time on staff, Cameron served in youth ministry and worship leadership roles at United Methodist Churches while studying at the University of Georgia (Psychology & Religion), then later Georgia State University (Public Administration). He and his wife, Britt, a dietitian at Emory Decatur Hospital, live in Decatur with their children, Eli and Callie, and are members of Decatur First UMC.
